This is the first offering of Ami's Vineyard Cabernet, from our charming two-acre home vineyard situated on the northern end of the La Jota ridge. A pure expression of the Howell Mountain terroir; elegant with loads of fruit: cherry, cranberry, raspberry, with nuances of sandalwood and cola spice, the wine has a juicy attack with coated tannins and a polished feel. Fruit cascades across the palate and marries with well-integrated oak and hints of rose petal, dry cocoa and tobacco. Though youthful, the wine is a combination of power and refinement and its silky finish is an enticing invitation to take another sip.

Wine Enthusiast

Very ripe in cassis, with plenty of smoky oak influence and a spicy, dry finish. This is a bold, tannic young wine, tight and astringent in youth. It needs time in the cellar to soften and meld. Should be best between 2009 and 2011, and live far longer.
