Lichen Estate 2018 PINOT GRIS, Anderson Valley $24.99/$19.99
Our 2018 Pinot Gris offers Lichen’s richest take yet on this dazzlingly aromatic varietal. Opulent and ripe fruit abounds, yet the wine remains jazzy and refreshing. Clocking in at 13.7% alcohol, it strays from our more restrained prior vintages, but it’s been a crowd pleaser in the tasting room and a new favorite among the staff.
Beaux Freres 2017 Les Cousins PINOT NOIR, Willamette $34.99/$27.99
This wine is one that comes along only once in a rare while! Les Cousins is a second label Pinot Noir of Beaux Freres Vineyards that’s a selection from the barrels in their cellar. A relatively few cases were produced of this silky, but boldly expressive Pinot. Like all of their wines, it’s bottled unfined and unfiltered.
Beckmen 2018 Cuvée le Bec, Sta Ynez Valley $22.99/$18.39
BLEND: 45% Syrah, 39% Grenache, 9% Mourvedre, 7% Counoise. Our namesake red blend is back and bursting out of the glass! While the Syrah is still dominant on the palate, the Grenache is the first to greet you on the nose, with aromas of maraschino cherries, licorice, and fresh wild herbs. The earthy mouthfeel is complemented by flavors of ripe blueberries, jammy red cherries, and juicy blackberries.
Blackbird Vineyards 2016 Arise, Napa Valley $49.99/$39.99
BLEND: 55% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc, 17% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Petit Verdot. The 2016 Arise offers a rich attack with sweet, plush tannins and notes of cherry, plum, and smoked duck in a long finish of coffee, plum, and blueberry. An ideal 2016 harvest season resulted in rich fruit of uncompromised character.
Jaffurs 2017 Thomspon PETITE SIRAH, Santa Barbara $37.99/$30.39
The 2017 Petite Sirah maintains darkness, power, and purity of fruit. The cool vineyard site led to long hang time, giving us full development of flavors and ripe phenolics. Inky-purple in color, this wine is generous with dark berry fruits, licorice and jammy intensity. This Petite Sirah should age for some time. Ample fruit and silky tannins allow for early enjoyment.
